Managing IPs

All servers and load balancers, that are not created through virtual providers are assigned an IP address from the provider.

To learn more about when Cycle releases IPs automatically check this platform guide.

Managing IPs for Native Integration Providers

Users can manage their existing IPs through the IPs dashboard.

To get there:

  1. Expand the Infrastructure section on the main, left-hand navigation.
  2. Click IPs in the Infrastructure sub-navigation

Clicking on any individual CIDR from the first column will bring up the assignment info, pool ID, provider, and server association.

To delete an IP pool, enter the pool into the delete form and submit. If any IP in the pool is in use this will fail.

Manually Reserving IPs

The portal does not support manually reserving IPv4 or IPv6 addresses to add to the pool.

Managing IPs for Virtual Providers

Users can manage IP pools for servers added through virtual provider on the IP Pools tab.

To get there:

  1. Expand the Infrastructure section on the main, left-hand navigation
  2. Click on Servers then pick the VP server to work with.
  3. Select IP Pools from the horizontal navigation.

Here users can see the usable CIDR along with the gateway, the current state, and the provider it's attached to.

Clicking into the CIDR will navigate the user to the IPs section of the portal.

Creating New IP Pools

Use the + icon next to IP Pools to open the create modal.

FieldDescription
Usable CIDRDefines the specific IP block Cycle will allocate from. These are the addresses assigned to load balancers or services.
Network CIDRThe larger subnet these IPs live within. This determines which addresses are directly reachable from this pool.
Gateway IPThe router or upstream device that handles traffic leaving the subnet. This is where traffic goes when it needs to reach outside the local range.

Deleting IP Pools

IP pools can be released through the IP Pools form on the servers IP Pools page or through the IPs dashboard.
