Creating a DNS Zone
This is accomplished through the DNS zone create wizard.
To get there:
- DNS from the main, left-hand navigation.
- Zones from the DNS sub-navigation menu.
- Use the Create button to open the wizard.
This will open the create wizard, which includes a detailed guide on how to create the zone, and how to configure your DNS provider.
1. Define Origin
The origin is the domain that will be used for the DNS Zone. This can be a root domain or a subdomain. Access controls can also be configured here.
2. Select Zone Type
For information on selecting a zone type, see Which DNS Zone Type Should I Use?.
3. Configure your DNS Provider
Based on the configuration of the DNS Zone, this step will explain what records need to be added in your DNS provider.
4. Review and Submit
Confirm that all of the information is correct, and that the appropriate records have been added in your DNS provider. Once confirmed, the DNS Zone will be created, and Hosted zones will attempt to verify.
