Community: Looking Back at the First 100 Days

Looking back at the first 100 days of the Cycle Community has been a wonderful experience. What started as a way to unify the Cycle user ecosystem ( clients, partners, developers, and champions ) has evolved into a collaborative hub showcasing shared knowledge and innovation. This collaborative environment has been the birthplace of several features being released quickly, and continues to provide users a way to have a direct impact on the direction and evolution of the platform.

Today we want to take a moment to reflect on the growth, connections, and insights that have emerged from our community so far.

Milestones

The past 100 days have been packed with exciting community moments:

  • Engaging Discussions: One community member Andrew encountered this issue with MySQL 5.7. Through an exciting back and forth we were able to discover that while they were pinning the major 5 and minor 7 version the revision (aka build/patch/etc) version was actually whatever revision was available for the official image at time of image build. This version had a bug in it that would cause failures in the database they'd configured if it was restarted. By updating their image to a more specific version they were able to import and re-image the container, mitigating the issue.
  • Feature Requests: When Cycle user Thomas was having an issue with his extremely dynamic pipeline hitting constraints around locks. Luckily the team was able to add some programmatic controls quickly and roll out a feature within a week!
  • Resource Sharing: Recently, a long time Cycle fan Ruslan was looking to understand more about the v1 load balancer and Cycle champion Casey was able to point him in the right direction.

All in all, our main goal of creating a collaborative space for our users to interact with the team and each other has resulted in really fun and interesting interactions. For many, DevOps can be challenging and intimidating. But by bringing together diverse perspectives and expertise, our community has become a place where people can learn and share their experiences not only about Cycle, but on broad DevOps topics like load balancing and multi-cloud deployments.

It's About People

The value of the Cycle.io Community goes far beyond software and support - it's about the people.

By connecting with others who share similar goals, challenges, and insights, we're creating a collective knowledge base that helps everyone feel like a DevOps rockstar. Our team at Cycle remains committed to our mission of simplicity and functionality, and we're thrilled to have a community that's equally passionate about this journey. Our users bring enthusiasm and contributions that motivate and inform how we continue to improve the platform.

Whether you're new to Cycle or have been with us from the start, we invite you to dive in, ask questions, share knowledge, and connect with others who are as passionate as you are. Together, we're creating something truly special, a community built on the shared goal of making DevOps simple and accessible through the platform.

Thank you for being a part of the Cycle.io Community! Here's to the next 100 days and beyond.
