SSL Certificates

Hello!

How can I upload my SSL certificate (from GoDaddy) for DNS zone?

How can I route traffic based on URL?

For example:

https://<my_domain>/ - goes to one container

https://<my_domain>/<path1> - goes to a second container

https://<my_domain>/<path2> - goes to another container

Thanks!

  • Hey Ruslan,

Great question, but before we dive into uploading from GoDaddy, can I ask why you'd like to use the GoDaddy cert and not just have Cycle create and manage the cert for you?

  • Hi Christopher!

I completely agree with you, but the client is adamant that we use the paid GoDaddy certificate.

  • Additionally, we also renew it every year.

  • Hi Ruslan,

I've started writing the functionality for you to be able to associate your own cert with a DNS record, we'll get this live early next week for you.

  • Jake - if I remember correctly, you had mentioned that there is a way in the Load Balancer to configure rules to do something like the path-based routing Ruslan described above?

  • Yes, I'm interested in where I can set this up

  • Hey Ruslan, once we get this live I'd be happy to hop on a call and help you set it up. We're looking at next week as a primary target or the week after as a secondary.

Is that timeframe ok for this project?

  • Hi Christopher! I need to conduct consultations.

  • Hi!

Can you send us directions as soon as feature is available. And if it's complicated - we can schedule a call.

  • Hey Ruslan, of course I will contact you as soon as this is live.

  • Hi Rusland,

We just pushed the ability to upload custom TLS certificates and use them for your DNS records.

    How To Add Custom Certificates

    1. On the left-hand menu, click DNS > TLS
    2. Click the Upload TLS Certificate button on the top right of the page.
    3. Input your private key and bundle, and click Add TLS Certificate on the bottom of the form.

Cycle will automatically detect the domains the certificate is applicable to. Any LINKED records created with a matching domain and TLS Enabled checked will use the custom certificate instead of generating a new one.

Let us know if you have any questions, but this feature should solve your custom certificate requirement!

In addition, we'll be releasing a guide soon on how to match different containers to different paths using Cycle's native load balancer. We've added new general documentation on the native load balancer here, but the guide will go live sometime in the next week.
