August has been an outstanding month for the Cycle team, marked by significant advancements across the platform. We've introduced new features aimed at simplifying workflows and enhancing user experience. As we wrap up August and look ahead to September, we're excited to share the progress we've made and what you can expect in the coming weeks.
This month's crowning achievement was the alpha release of Cycle's logging functionality. Users can now access up to 72 hours of container instance logs directly from the container modal. This feature also includes both simple and complex (regex) search capabilities, allowing for more detailed and efficient log analysis.
Another powerful addition this month is the ability to export environments into stack files. This new feature allows users to configure an environment exactly how they want it, then export it into a stack file that can be redeployed to create new environments. This streamlines the process of replicating configurations and ensures consistency across deployments.
Dynamic pipelines just got a lot smarter as the platform now supports magic variables. Users can now inject special values like {{-date}}, {{-date-time}}, {{-time}}, and {{-time-rfc3339}} into pipeline fields. This feature simplifies the management of date-related values, making your pipelines more efficient and reducing the need for manual input.
Managing DNS zones is now easier than ever with the new DNS Zone Import feature. Users can now import DNS Zone files directly into Cycle, greatly reducing the manual work involved in migrating domains and ensuring smoother transitions.
Monitoring your load balancers got a visual upgrade. We've added a Router Response graph to the V1 load balancer service dashboard, which displays HTTP response codes when the load balancer is in HTTP mode. This provides users with clearer insights into traffic patterns and load balancer performance.
In September, the team is focused on migrating and rebuilding the platform's documentation. Our goal is to make it easier to navigate and more comprehensive. With better-organized and more accessible docs, you'll find it simpler to locate the resources you need, whether you're a new user or an experienced developer.
The Cycle Learning Center is a new resource that will offer industry-specific content aimed at helping users searching for answers to common DevOps, containers, and Linux questions.
We're continuing to expand the platform's logging and monitoring capabilities. In September, we'll be introducing additional logging functionality and more detailed monitoring tools. These enhancements will provide users with deeper insights into their infrastructure, enabling more effective management and quicker response times to any issues that may arise.
