Automatically Backup Stateful Containers to Backblaze B2

Today, we’re excited to announce a deeper partnership with Backblaze, one of the world’s leading object storage providers! While Cycle.io and Backblaze have been working together for several years, this latest integration empowers developers to automatically backup stateful containers to Backblaze B2 Cloud Storage.

Cycle’s mission is simple: be the most developer friendly platform for container orchestration. While the platform already greatly reduces the amount of technical debt involved in managing containers, Cycle just became even better.

Implementing a reliable process for backing up and restoring data at scale can be a challenge for even the most senior DevOps engineers. Now, through Cycle’s integration with Backblaze, organizations can easily backup, and restore, stateful data with ease. This feature has been requested by a number of clients for some time, and we're thrilled to finally be able to offer it.

With Backblaze, storing and using data is astonishingly easy. With high-performance and S3 compatible cloud storage, Backblaze provides simplicity, reliability, and affordability to its users. Developers use it to build apps and manage services easily, IT leaders use it to backup their organizations with management ease, and media-heavy teams use it to save time and headaches with their existing workflows and media tools.

At Cycle, we recognize technical decisions can be incredibly important to the success of a company—limiting technical debt is at the core of what we do. Our platform was designed to empower developers to build faster while also ensuring that users retain complete ownership of their data and infrastructure. This automated backups feature is no exception as Cycle enables a seamless integration with an organization’s Backblaze B2 account -- an Application Key is all that is required.

With the continued growth of the Cycle platform, we're excited to expand our relationship with Backblaze.

How to get started, assuming you already have a Cycle account:

  1. Create a B2 Cloud Storage account
  2. Create a Storage Bucket and Application Key at Backblaze
  3. Associate your Backblaze Application Key with your Cycle hub via the Integrations menu
  4. Utilize the ‘Backup’ settings within a Container Config
